Talossa’s Only Radio Network!

RFT (Radio Free Talossa) is the first real regular broadcast in the Republic of Talossa. With a lineup of programmes ranging from news and commentary to drama and comedy, we pretty much own the Talossan airwaves, thanks to our prominence and output!

The reviews are in for “Stubborn Things”!

Praise for “Crash Lunar”!:
Great stuff!! WOW!!!! You're on a roll! Keep it up! Keep it up! Keep it up!”
— Gödafrïeu Válcadác’h

THIS IS AWESOME!!! But have you hear the latest crash lunar??? Is it me or is the quality of the work of Grubi getting better each time... I just love the way he is able to do all the voices, yet, since he uses really colorful caracters and expressions that all fit together, I am able to visualize each one differently!!! I love the way the action flows, the little step each time, leaving us hanging a little further down the road. I can't wait to have enough episodes to burn them on a CD and give copies to friends!!! This is GREAT stuff!

Stubborn Things

Our first show is “Stubborn Things,” with your host Chirisch Cavéir. With a slight irreverence and a whole lot of insight and experience, he weighs in on all the latest issues in the Republic. Sometimes, guest interviews and Talossan music break up the regular schedule. If you enjoy knowing what’s truly up, then tune in.

Crash Lunar

In the thirty-second century, Lieutenant Marcus “Crash” Lunar, the Astral Federation’s Action Hero, and his Boy Sidekick, Ensign Clifford “Cliff” Hangar, travel across the far-reaches of the solar system searching for adventure and a way to fight off the threat of the Empire of Saturn and its evil Lord Axanar.

Brought to you by Warp-Os cereal (and a 12-year-old unrecorded script by Chris Gruber), “Crash Lunar” is THE sci-fi radio serial you've been looking for! Download each part as it becomes available! They’re in living S*T*E*R*E*O-phonic sound!

Inspired in part by the Firesign Theatre’s characters in “Mark Time,” Crash and Company were created by Chris Gruber during the fall of 1992. Despite several attempts at recording the scripts in ’92 and ’93, these episodes were never recorded until this year. New episodes (starting with number 66) have been written in 2004.

Other Shows

In the tradition of classic radio comedy, it’s “Li’l Baby Piggy”: The story of an adorable little pig who gets into mischief with a giggle. Starring Lisa Skovalia as Baby Piggy.

“Mr District Defender”: A performance of Bob & Ray’s script from From Approximately Coast to Coast... It's the Bob & Ray Show. Guest-starring Lisa Skovalia!

About Your Producer

Chris Gruber (Your Humble Producer) writes, performs, and produces everything RFT does (with little exception where noted). When Gruber first became a citizen of Talossa in February 1998, he was in the midst of his tenure as a news anchor for WVFS-FM in Tallahassee, Florida — so you know he’s experienced in radio. He’s also put in a few years of writing and recording his own productions — since 1986, he’s worked with Pat McAdams (as The Obscene Psychedelic Sounds), Dale Glassmeyer (as the Social Misfits), and even a short-lived comedy troupe he taught, the Inside Joke.

“Being a radio star, like in the 1930s, has been a dream of mine since I was a kid,” he admits. “But I’ve always been so disappointed that the Golden Age of Radio was over about twenty years before I was born.” To answer that problem, he’s created Radio Free Talossa and its associated performing troupe, Þeátric Caválttä Üscüdâ (Wireless Audio Theatre).
